Background check
Welcome to YSCN / Yours Sincerely Cecilie Nilsson
A lifestyle full of fashion, innovation, and relentless performance art. The designer Cecilie Nilsson started her career in 2009 when she was only 16 years old. She realized she wanted to become a worldwide designer. But as an artist, she was inspired by very different areas. First of all, her biggest idol was her grandmother, with her fashion sense, especially her big furs, when Cecilie was a little kid. The inspiration also came from magazines. She knew who every designer was and was the kind of girl who wanted to go on an adventure to reach above the sky. YSCN became the game-changer for her at that time in her very modest life.
She lived in Allerød, in the north of Zealand, with her mother and her sister. Her mother was, most of all, a boss-lady who could do it all, was really good with numbers, and was incredibly independent. Her father was a Thai-quanto guru who was, most of all, a wise man. But like every family, there were ups and downs. Cecilie had a really good childhood overall. She found love and peace in making clothes and being creative. Most of her time was spent in her room creating, whether it was drawings or clothing designs.
She got her first sewing machine when she was eight years old and made her first fashion collection when she was 12.
When she first started her brand identity, she wanted to create something for every girl in the world, giving everyone a chance to feel beautiful. The slogan for YSCN is still, to this day: “Everyone is beautiful in their own way.” From that moment, she understood the essence of business, having watched her uncle, a very busy man, since childhood. Like many teenagers, she wanted to explore the world first.
From the age of 18 to 25, Cecilie lived in Greece with stops in Denmark. She built a network in Denmark’s lifestyle industry and befriended artists and famous personalities from DK.
When she turned 25, she was done traveling and wanted to launch her lifestyle company, YSCN, focusing on designs. In 2019, this dream became a reality, and YSCN was officially launched. She became well-known for her miraculous ability to handle challenging situations and secured sponsorships with big brands like Stay Hotels and Dinesen Collection.
In 2020, she expanded her marketing department, collaborating with nine production companies to create stunning video productions for various clients.
Before launching this, she recognized the need for people. Having modeled freelance since the age of 16, she wanted to support other aspiring models by preparing them for the industry. This led her to create the YSCN Model School, a three-day course that introduced participants to freelance modeling and included them in the YSCN website.
Initially, Cecilie thought this initiative was a great way to help models who had no idea where to start. But as time went on, she realized this path led to complications she didn’t anticipate. Five days before launching the Model School app in 2022, she received a call from her partner, who shared concerns about the app’s alignment with her values as a Muslim.
That call changed everything. Her heart stopped. She was shocked that something so normal to her could inadvertently harm the community she had built over two years. In the end, she decided to cancel two years of hard work to protect others from harm.
This decision was a sacrifice she made for others, driven by her faith and devotion to God. The decision left her devastated for 2.5 years. Like many artists, she fell into depression when she thought she had reached the pinnacle of her career, only to face setbacks.
But Cecilie knew it was time to transform the negatives into positives. YSCN had been her life for 15 years and her lifelong dream.
She turned to studying Islam, seeking to ensure that her future projects would avoid harm. Conversations with a sheikh helped her understand that something bad can always be turned into good through hard work. A hadith about purification resonated deeply with her: to purify something, it must go through fire.
The two years of YSCN’s misaligned focus were followed by 2.5 years of pure determination to create something better. Cecilie experienced profound personal growth, softening her approach while remaining strong in her convictions.
Now, she is ready to start over in the best way possible, with Islam as her guide. She plans to design dresses for every girl in the world, grounded in modesty and inspiration. Islam has taught her many lessons, including the importance of intention and the power of small, positive steps. She learned to see fame as a potential trap and to view the YSCN brand as a platform for good, not as an end in itself.
As a teenager, Cecilie stood against bullying and built a community of kindness and acceptance. YSCN was born out of a desire to counteract cruelty in the world. She now understands the importance of taking care of one another and recognizes that everything happens for a reason and at the right time.
Though Cecilie’s journey has been filled with challenges, she remains dedicated to YSCN. She aims to inspire others to pursue their goals with integrity and good intentions.
Starting in 2025, YSCN will relaunch with a new vision: to empower women worldwide, integrate life experience and performance art, and build a community of strength and confidence. Cecilie’s superpower lies in her creativity and determination to make YSCN a beacon of beauty and empowerment.
Now, YSCN begins anew, with a commitment to truth, faith, and a brighter future.
